Camaro: Hot Wheels Edition

How many times have you heard a woman say “Men and their toys”? That over-used proverb applies directly to the Camaro Hot Wheels Edition Chevrolet unveiled at the Specialty Equipment Market Association trade show in Las Vegas. A Camaro was among the first batch of Hot Wheels cars created by Mattel in 1968. But this is the first time that a life-size production Hot Wheels car has been offered for sale by any manufacturer. Producing a Hot Wheels car at full drivable size is every man’s dream and now that dream has become a reality.

The Hot Wheels Edition Camaro will be sold in the first quarter of 2013, and will sport the exterior look of the ZL1 model with Kinetic Blue paint, black 21-inch wheels with red outline stripes and exaggerated aero effects treatment from grille to spoiler, a two-toned matte hood graphic, rear taillight blackout graphic, fender flame graphics, and Hot Wheels logos all around it. Inside, the black leather interior is accented with red and black seat stitching and complimented by the MyLink infotainment system. The seats bear the Hot Wheels logo, and each door has a Hot Wheels decal. If you glance down as you get into the car, you will see the Hot Wheels sill plate.

This version Camaro will be available in coupe and convertible models and  V6-powered 2LT and V8-powered SS trims, offering between 323 and 426 horsepower. The Hot Wheels Edition package will cost an extra $6,995. So for close to $7,000 you can have your own life-sized Hot Wheels dream car.
